A widget is a type of Report Services control that presents data in a visual and interactive way. In MicroStrategy Web, you can insert an iPhone or iPad widget into a document, or enable a report to be displayed as an iPhone widget. The widget is then displayed when the report or document is viewed on an iPhone or iPad with MicroStrategy Mobile.
You can display the following as widgets on the iPhone:
Image Viewer widget
Interactive Grid widget
Map widget
Photo Uploader widget
Time Series widget
RSS Reader widget
You can display the following as widgets on the iPad:
Date Selection widget (displays as a calendar on the iPad)
Graph
Matrix widget
Note: To create a Graph Matrix widget,
create
a Visual Insight analysis with a Graph Matrix visualization, then
convert
the analysis to a document.
Heat Map widget
Image Viewer widget
Interactive Grid widget
Map widget
Microcharts widget
Photo Uploader widget

iPhone and iPad widgets display as Grid/Graphs in Flash Mode in MicroStrategy Web. You can determine how iPhone and iPad widgets display in other MicroStrategy Web modes, and when exported to PDF and Excel. You can only display one widget in a single document layout on the iPhone. To display multiple widgets within the same document, create a separate layout for each widget.
