Naming and formatting layout tabs

Each layout in a multi-layout document has its own tab, similar to the tabs used for spreadsheets in a Microsoft Excel workbook. For an introduction to layouts and multi-layout documents, see About multi-layout documents.

Users can use the tabs to switch between layouts. The tabs are also used as bookmarks in PDF view.

A designer can rename the tabs and can format the background color of a tab.

To rename a layout tab

  1. Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.

  2. Right-click a layout tab and select Rename.

  3. Type the new name and then press ENTER.

The tab name changes in all views, including PDF view.

To change the background color of a layout tab

  1. Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.

  2. In the layout, from the Home menu select Page Setup. The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  3. Select Layout.

  4. From the Tab color drop-down list, select a color.

  5. Click OK.
