To use the Analysis Editor, you should understand the following parts of its interface:
Visualization area: The data that has been added to the Visual Insight analysis is displayed in the center of the interface as an interactive visualization.
Dataset Objects panel: This panel is located on the left side of the interface, and displays a list of all the attributes and metrics in the analysis's dataset. You can drag and drop report objects from the Dataset Objects panel to add them to a visualization, allow users to filter based on an attribute or metric, and so on.
Drop Zones panel: You can drag and drop attributes and metrics in the Drop Zones panel to add them to the currently displayed visualization. For specific information about the attributes and metric required to display a specific visualization type, see About visualizations.
Filters panel: This panel is located on the left of the interface by default. You can allow users to filter the data displayed in the analysis by selecting options from filters in the Filters panel. For steps, see Adding attributes and metrics to the Filters panel.
Page-by area: You can drag and drop add an attribute in the Page-by area to allow users to group and organize the data in an analysis based on a selected attribute element. For steps, see Grouping data in an analysis.
Local Filter panel: This panel is located at the bottom of the interface and displays the local filters in the analysis. By default, when a user filters the data in a visualization using elements from different attributes, a local filter is created and displayed in the Local Filter panel. For more information on local filters, see Filtering data in an analysis.
