Exporting a Visual Insight analysis allows you view and interact with the analysis results outside of MicroStrategy Web. For example, you can view the analysis results in a PDF file within Adobe Reader or create an interactive Flash dashboard for off-line use.
You can export an analysis to the following formats:
PDF file: Export the analysis to a PDF file in a reader, such as Adobe Reader. You can view the PDF on any device with a PDF reader, such as another computer, a Linux machine, a Nook, or a Kindle.
Flash file: Export the analysis to a stand-alone Flash file.
This procedure assumes the analysis you want to export has already been created.
You must have the Web Visual Insight and Execute Document or Analysis privileges.
You must have the necessary privileges to export to the file format you choose.
Click the name of the analysis to execute it.
From the PDF drop-down list on the analysis toolbar, select the file format in which to export the analysis. Do one of the following:
To save the analysis as a PDF file, select PDF. The analysis is exported and displayed in a browser window.
To save the analysis as a Flash file, select Flash, then perform the following steps:
A message is displayed informing you that filtering selectors are only available in Web. Click OK.
A message is displayed informing you that you need to save a copy of the Flash file before opening it. Click OK.
Click Save. The Save As dialog box opens.
Type a name for the Flash file in the File name field, then click OK. Your file is saved.
