Saving a prompt

After you have created a prompt you can save it for use on future reports or documents. For information the different types of prompts and links to topics explaining how to create them, see Types of prompts.

To save a prompt

  1. After creating your prompt, click Save As. The Save As dialog box opens.

  2. Browse to the folder in which you want to save the prompt.

  3. In the Name text box, type the name of the prompt.

  4. In the Description text box, type a short description for the prompt.

  5. Click OK. The prompt is saved.

Note: If you attempt to save a prompt with the same name and location as an existing prompt, a message warns you that you are attempting to overwrite an existing object. Click OK to provide the prompt with a new name or location.
