The Filter Details - Contents category of the Report Details Properties dialog box contains formatting options to display the filter details in the Report Details pane above a report. This tab lets you define formatting for the filter details by selecting the filter expressions to be enabled for display (report filter, view filter, report limits, and so on) and how the filter details are displayed. The dialog box contains the following sections:
Use the General section to select whether to enable the display of the following filter sub-expressions in the Report Details pane.
Report Filter -- When you select this check box, the following options are available:
Report Filter Name -- Choose whether to include the filter name in the Report Details pane or exclude it. Choose from the options listed below:
Inherit: Select whether to return to the default document or report setting for report filter name

Note: If Automatic
is chosen, the report filter name is displayed for a stand-alone filter,
but is omitted for an embedded filter.
Report Filter Description -- This check box is automatically selected when you select the Report Filter option. It includes a short description of the report filter in the Report Details pane.
View Filter -- This applies to view reports based for Intelligent Cubes only.
Metric Qualification in View Filter -- This check box is automatically selected when you select the View Filter check box. The metric qualification is displayed in the Report Details pane.
Report Limits -- Select whether to enable the display of report limits in the Report Details pane. A report limit specifies a set of criteria used to restrict the data returned in a result set after the report’s metrics are calculated. A report limit can make a report more efficient to run, because less information is returned from the data source.
Drill Filter -- Select this check box to display the drill filter.
Security Filter -- Select this check box to display the security filter that is applied to the report and to the objects that make up the report.
Use the Additional Options section to define the display of additional filter details.
This can be done by specifying the following options:
Include filter type name -- Select this check box to include the name of the filter types, for example Report Filter, View Filter, and so on. The Show empty expressions option is available when you select this check box.
Show empty expressions -- Select this option if the Include filter type name option is selected. An empty expression is a filter type that is not included on the dataset report.
Show Report Limits -- Select this check box to specify where to show the report limits. The options are:

New line after filter type name -- Select this check box to add a new line after each filter type name, before the actual definition of the filter. This provides spacing, making complex filter definitions easier to read.
New line between filter types -- Select this check box to add a line after each sub-expression, to help differentiate between the various filters.
Expand Shortcut Filters -- Select this check box to specify whether to expand shortcut filters, which are stand-alone filters used in the report filters. The options are:
