About HTML documents

An HTML document is an HTML container for formatting, displaying, and distributing multiple reports on the same page, or at the same time within a project. You can modify the appearance of an HTML document, just like any other HTML page, to include text, images, hyperlinks, tables, and one or more report objects.

HTML documents are created in MicroStrategy Desktop, and can be displayed in MicroStrategy Desktop or MicroStrategy Web.

Each report within an HTML document can have its own custom XSL file associated with it, allowing the designer to display each report in the HTML document with its own styles. To create an HTML document, see the MicroStrategy Advanced Reporting Guide.

Note: HTML documents are different than Report Services documents in MicroStrategy. A Report Services document displays data coming from multiple reports, with the data laid out and designed in presentation-quality format. Report Services documents require the MicroStrategy Report Services product. The term document signifies a Report Services document. For information about documents, see About documents and dashboards.
