Changing the graph resolution in PDFs

By default, graphs are generated using vector graphs, which are much smaller and reduce the size of the PDF. They also improve the quality of printed graphs. However, you can use bitmaps (.bmp) instead if you want to use any of the following, which are not supported by vector graphs:

If bitmaps are being generated instead of vector graphs, you can generate them using a lower resolution, or draft quality. This reduces the size of the PDF and impacts the printed quality of the graphs, but generally not the quality of the on-screen graph images.

Note: This procedure affects the entire document, including all layouts of a multi-layout document. For more information on multi-layout documents, see Creating multi-layout documents.

To change the graph resolution in the final PDF output

  3. From the left, select Export.

  4. In the PDF area, select the Use bitmaps for graphs check box.

  5. To use a lower resolution for the bitmap graphs (as described above), select the Use draft quality for graphs check box.

  6. Click OK to return to the document.

  7. To view the PDF, click the PDF icon on the Standard toolbar.
