You can edit any text field in a document.
One important reason to edit a text field is to update an object name that has been changed in the project. When you rename an object, such as a metric, any text fields that reference that metric are not automatically updated with the new name. For example, the dataset report on your document contains a Revenue metric, and you create a text field by dragging and dropping the Revenue metric onto the document. If the name of the Revenue metric is subsequently changed to Total Revenue, the text field you created still displays the name Revenue. The text field is not updated with the new name.
Follow the procedure below to edit a text field in a document.
Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.
Double-click a text field, or select the text field and press F2.
Edit the text by doing any of the following:
Type new text.
Add a data field by dragging and dropping a Dataset Object into the selected text field.
Add an auto text code by selecting the code from the Insert > Auto Text menu or typing the code into the text field. For lists of auto text codes, see Auto text codes: datasets or Auto text codes: documents.
Begin on another line by pressing Enter.
