Creating a filter based on a condition of metric values

You can create a filter that only displays report results for metrics that fall within certain values. This can allow you to view analysis such as employees between 30% and 60% of tenure length with the company. You can then explore performance metrics within this percentage range of employees and determine where promotions and other actions are necessary.

The steps below show you how to create a filter with a metric qualification.

• You need the Web Use View Filter Editor privilege. This privilege is part of the MicroStrategy OLAP Services product.

To create a filter with a condition on metric qualification

1. Log into a project in MicroStrategy Web.

2. Run the report in Grid View.

3. Right-click a metric on the report and select Filter On.

4. Select Add Condition. The Filter On Metric dialog box opens.

5. Select an operator from the drop-down list that describes how you want to filter data, such as Greater than or Equals.

6. Type the value for the condition you want to restrict data to. This is the value that will be compared against the data in your data source.

7. Click OK.
