Applying an autostyle to a Grid/Graph

An autostyle is a collection of formatting properties. An autostyle can be applied to various control types (text fields, lines, and so on). An autostyle is a quick and easy way to apply consistent formatting to a number of controls. The steps below show you how to apply an autostyle to a Grid/Graph control, and how to assign a default autostyle to all Grid/Graph controls in your document.

To apply an autostyle to a Grid/Graph control

  1. Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.

  2. Select a Grid/Graph in the document.

  3. From the Autostyles drop-down list on the Grid toolbar, select an autostyle. The formatting from the autostyle is applied to the selected grid. The Autostyles drop-down is displayed below:

Assigning a default autostyle to all Grid/Graph controls in a document

You can determine a default autostyle for all of the Grid/Graph controls that will be added to the document. Once you select a default autostyle, all Grid/Graphs you insert into the document are formatted according to the default autostyle.

To assign a default autostyle to all Grid/Graph controls within a document

  1. Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.

  2. From the Tools menu, select Document Properties. The Properties and Formatting dialog box opens.

  3. From the left, select Other.

  4. Select an autostyle from the Default Grid Autostyle drop-down list.

  5. Click OK to apply the changes.
